In general, we will format our pendrive if there is any virus. In windows xp for formating the USB drives there are only two options of eigher in FAT or FAT32 , but it is possible to make it in NTFS also. In fact NTFS is not supported for the small capacity USB drives but we can. If you ask a question why i should use the NTFS file systam, because NTFS is more secure and fast. Once we done in NTFS the security options will also increases.
Hear are the steps :
- Just insert your pendrive to your pc.
- After detect, open Device manager from My computer.
- Or simply open it through Run command,
Run –> devmgmt.msc –> ok - Now it will opens the Device manager window

Hear mine is Kingston so it appearing there - Now right click on the pendrive –> Properties
- Now Properties window will open

- Click on policies button — > now check on Optimize for performance — press ok
- Then go to My computer and format your pendrive now you can see the NTFS option

- Finally you got it
